Backstory: Link to wiki
Personality:
In a post-apocalyptic, radioactive desert where surviving is hard and thriving is harder, Benny has found a way to do both - and more importantly, in style. He dresses, acts, and talks in a manner that stands out from the wasteland rabble; New Vegas is a jewel in the desert with winners and losers, and baby, nobody does it better than him. From his checkered suit jacket and black tie, all the way down to his shined leather shoes, he looks the part of the head of the Chairmen, one of the three "families" that control the New Vegas Strip under the leadership of Mr. House.

Despite his easy, breezy demeanor that can turn the corner from sleazy and smooth-talking to all the way back around into charming, his entire act is a whole lot of flash and very little substance. In reality, he comes from humble beginnings. Benny is a fake of an old-world personality, a revival of a bygone age at the whim of an old-world billionaire. When Mr. House desired to recreate the Vegas of old in the ruins of a post-apocalyptic world, he sought out tribes who would be willing to change themselves to fit it. While the Chief of the Boot-Riders rejected the offer, Benny was more than willing to take up that promise of House's offered "domestication" on behalf of his tribe - for luxuries, lights, and power - and challenged him for the right to decide it, winning after a vicious knife-fight. He embraced his new life whole-heartedly and would go to ruthless lengths to keep it that way, discretely arranging for the murder of Singer who wanted to go back to their nomadic roots and was, in his opinion, unduly influencing other members of the Chairmen with his nostalgia to return to simpler times. He has an internalized disdain for anything "tribal" or referring to anything that hints to their nomadic roots - they're civilized men, now.

The same ambition that led him to take Mr. House's offer is the same ambition that leads him to eventually turn on him too. One of Benny's key driving motivations is his desire for control over the New Vegas Strip. Current management is, in his opinion, nothing but out-of-touch and absent. New Vegas is a city preserved in a snowglobe, and while the House is still around, it'll remain stagnant. That's Benny's thinking on it - New Vegas needs a new leader, and that leader is him. There's a whole geopolitical mess and impending battle between Caesar's Legion and the New California Republic of which Vegas will become the spoils of war, and he genuinely believes that can see it through safely and on top as a winner instead of a prize to be taken, since he does want what's the best for his city.

He's cunning and resourceful enough to subvert a securitron on the sly for his own purposes, use it to find out more about House's plans and hijack a delivery, and ruthless enough to murder an uninvolved courier for it (and inadvertently kicking off the events of the game). And while he's ruthless, he's not completely cold - it's nothing personal, and it might even be sincere when he apologizes for the Courier getting caught up in a mess that had nothing to do with them. But, well.... he still robs them with five hired muscles and shoots them two times in the head. "Fairness" isn't exactly a concept he ascribes to.

Confidence is key for a gambler, and he's got no shortage of it. But on the flip side of that coin, he's also arrogant and careless, leaving a trail of cigarette butts and screwed-over Khans behind him to be tracked. He's also careless enough to forget to make sure that the extremely helpful robot programmed to be very, very nice and answer any questions was programmed to only answer his questions, and that definitely bites him in the ass.

In terms of how he might deal with his transformations, Benny is a man who embraces change like a champ - he's a winner who sees the opportunity and silver lining in any dreary cloud, and is always jonesing to be the first on the floor to take maximum advantage. You snooze, you lose. Although this is somewhat more literal of a change to get used to... It could be interesting to see his usually-opportunistic mind deciding to try and find ways to fight it or alternatively accept it. He already shed his personality, clothes, mannerisms, and way of life once after all; what's one more?
Closing statements: Anything else you wish to add or sum up?

Benny: "🥺"

Powers/Abilities:
â—‰ Benny's a normal human being, with no special powers to speak of. Maybe some resistance/tolerance to radiation, having lived with its omnipresence in the background.
â—‰ General wasteland survival skills.... but seven years out of practice. He's had it pretty cushy.
â—‰ Guns, general weapons handling - like any other wastelander who wants to survive in the Mojave. His aim is fairly average and not anything to brag about (or pretty bad, considering he shot somebody twice in the head and they survived), but he knows how to use and maintain his pistol. He also challenged his tribe's Chief to a knife-fight and won, but that was a long time ago. It's been too long since he's really had to kill people face-to-face and not via arranged overdoses.
â—‰ Schmoozin' up to people. He's got the gift of gab for sure.

Inventory:
â—‰ The Platinum Chip - While it could decide the fate of the Mojave back home, it's about as useful as a pretty piece of metal without the hardware to read it.
â—‰ Maria - a very visually striking 9mm pistol decorated with gold filigree, pearl grips, and a portrait of Our Lady of Guadaloupe.
â—‰ A battered, engraved cigarette case (but no matching lighter)
â—‰ His fancy outfit that consists of a distinctive checkered suit jacket, white button-up, black tie, grey slacks, and spiffy leather shoes. Also, a white handkerchief.

Game Plans: Let's put Benny in forced close proximity and cooperation with a variety of people, and see how he can manage with his usual wheeling and dealing! He's used to being the Big Man back home with money and the backing of the Chairmen, but here? It's a whole different ballgame. It'll be interesting to see how, and if, he can build himself back up without the connections and pull he has to lean on back home. How's about that starting from scratch and getting back in touch with your nomadic roots, Benny-boy? With some fun monstery messiness on top of it!

Monster Choice:
â—‰ Drakonis
â—‰ Fae
â—‰ Yokai

Vehicle Choice: A sleek red roadster that does not in any way resemble the car that's driven by the Geico Auto insurance lizard, with the fast quality.
